The BEST Upgraded Canned Green Bean Casserole

The BEST Upgraded Canned Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole is hands down one of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes. While I could spend time figuring out a made from scratch version, I try not to mess with perfection but so much and I've always loved the basic, throw it together quick, mostly canned recipe. I wanted to find a way to elevate and upgrade it juuuust a bit, to add my touch on it.

Mission ACCOMPLISHED! A few extra steps and a few different ingredients and this dish is one tasty gamechanger!

  • (2) 10.75 oz. cans of Campbell's Cooking Cream Of Mushroom - Roasted Garlic (The roasted garlic kind is one of the upgraded gamchangers)

  • (2) 14.50 oz. cans of Del Monte French Green Beans (You can do regular cut, but I prefer the french)

  • 3.5 oz. bag of Fresh Gourmet Topping, Crispy Onion Garlic (or Garlic Pepper; Another one of the upgraded gamechangers)

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream (Use half & half if you don't have cream, or milk as a last resort. The thicker, the creamier!)

  • 2 -3 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 3-4 slices of thick cut bacon, crumbled

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

  • In a nonstick pan on medium heat, saute butter, garlic, shallot and mushroom until cooked & softened

  • In a 3 or 4 quart casserole dish, mix in condensed soup, heavy cream and mushroom/shallot mixture

  • Mix in green beans, 1/2 bag of the crispy onions and crumbled bacon; Add salt and pepper to taste; Stir well so ingredients are well mixed and spread out evenly

  • Bake in oven for 30 minutes

  • Open oven, stir casserole and top with the remaining 1/2 bag of crispy onions; Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until onions are golden brown
